Web Designers and Craigslist

I use Craigslist all the time to drum up web gigs — but so do many others.

Trying to find a web designer on Craigslist can be dangerous. Almost every time I take on a new client, they relate some story about how their last web designer left them high and dry. I thought I would provide some helpful tips on prowling Craigslist for web designers.

First off, I know people want web design cheap. And I don’t mean that they want cheap looking websites, they just don’t want to pay an arm and a leg. But there has to be a compromise somewhere.

Time Warner? More Like Time Bore-ner.

Ever since Time Warner gobbled up the cable and internet service here in Los Angeles, I just can’t get over how incredibly crappy they are.

If you’re a Time Warner subscriber, you’ve probably had to deal with incredibly slow internet access. You call them up to get some help (because you’re paying for 100 Mb/s), and they tell you that you probably need to reset your modem because it’s “full of the internet.”

Okay, thats not an exact quote, but it’s close. They told us that our internet was going slow because our modem was clogged with information. This may be an acceptable excuse for someone who doesn’t understand technology, but personally, I found it insulting.

A Glorious Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

It’s official, Hip Web Design is revamped.

Break out the cheap champagne and circulate the hors d’Ĺ“uvres. The mayor is here and he’d like to welcome you to Hip Web Design’s newest cyberspace place.

*SNIP* The ribbon has been cut! Cue the trumpets! Release the doves! Ignite the fireworks!
