Tempted by Templates

Here’s a scenario: You want a decent looking website, you want to be able to manage your own content, and you want to keep the price reasonable. So you find a corporate looking web design site that seems to offer it all. “Legit,” you think.

Sure, legit. But more often than not, you’ll be getting a template. It will probably be fairly clean looking, reasonable to manage, but it’ll still be a template. Many other people may have a site that looks similar, if not exactly, like your own. Your ability to leave a memorable impression goes out the door with your visitor. (more…)
