A Glorious Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

It’s official, Hip Web Design is revamped.

Break out the cheap champagne and circulate the hors d’œuvres. The mayor is here and he’d like to welcome you to Hip Web Design’s newest cyberspace place.

*SNIP* The ribbon has been cut! Cue the trumpets! Release the doves! Ignite the fireworks!

… Maybe we should have released the doves last …

I’ve used every waking hour that wasn’t spent working on someone else’s project to work on my own. I have to say that I am quite pleased with it. The blue on gray scheme is a cool and refreshing change from the old maroon on yellow.

Hip Web Design\'s old layout

In my personal view, this website signifies the transition from individual-based web design to community-based web design. Obviously, this page is largely about me and my freelance web design, but it has many tools and features to promote active communication. It’s meant not just to be a “portfolio site,” but an active, living, breathing cyberspace presence that provokes participation from its visitors.

Okay, I know, I’m getting a little deep… a little theoretical — It’s a side effect from having not written a college essay in a almost a year. But I truly believe that people don’t just want stagnant web sites anymore. They (you) want a website that they can be a part of themselves, update at their will, connect with their community. and target their audience.

Anyway, the site is now live and open to the public. Please don’t shy away from leaving comments or subscribing to my RSS feed (cool!). I plan on blogging regularly about this and that.

I also plan on making a lot of really awesome websites!
